Advanced Max Contraction Training
By: Little, John R.
Published by: McGraw-Hill
''Human progress hinges on the commitment of a select few to not accept current knowledge as a final truth, to continue to strive to constantly improve their methods, their knowledge base, their skill set. John Little questioned conventional strength training methods and has created a system that takes traditional results to the next level. As a well-established innovator in fitness and strength training, his methods have been employed by hundreds of thousands of individuals around the world. His methods have been touted as the impetus for 'physiology books to be rewritten,' and can save hours of unnecessary time in the gym, and will open your eyes to the most up-to-date research and information available--a tremendously potent technology that, when properly applied, will result in real, meaningful, and sustainable physical results, and will help build a confidence in your own abilities that will permeate into all areas of your life.''. --Anthony Robbins, Peak Performance Coach and author of Awaken the Giant Within (From the Foreword to Max Contraction Training). ''Groundbreaking. This is truly an incredible discovery that could cause physiology books to be rewritten.''. -- Ironman magazine. ''A thorough, productive weight workout in less than three minutes? You better believe it! Larger muscles. Stronger techniques. Fewer injuries. What more do you want?''. -- Martial Arts Training magazine. ''This training approach has begun to stimulate our thinking in entirely new directions.''. -- Muscle & Fitness. ''Don't be surprised if you see substantial results in only three workouts! That's how good this system is.''. -- Muscular Development.

Boys Will Be Boys
By: Pearlman, Jeff
Published by: Harper Collins
They were America's Team—the high-priced, high-glamour, high-flying Dallas Cowboys of the 1990s, who won three Super Bowls and made as many headlines off the field as on it. Led by Emmitt Smith, the charismatic Deion "Prime Time" Sanders, and Hall of Famers Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin, the Cowboys rank among the greatest of all NFL dynasties. In similar fashion to his New York Times bestseller The Bad Guys Won! , about the 1986 New York Mets, in Boys Will Be Boys , award-winning writer Jeff Pearlman chronicles the outrageous antics and dazzling talent of a team fueled by ego, sex, drugs—and unrivaled greatness. Rising from the ashes of a 115 season in 1989 to capture three Super Bowl trophies in four years, the Dallas Cowboys were guided by a swashbuckling, skirt-chasing, power-hungry owner, Jerry Jones, and his two eccentric, hard-living coaches, Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer. Together the three built a juggernaut that America loved and loathed. But for a team that was so dominant on Sundays, the Cowboys were often a dysfunctional circus the rest of the week. Irvin, nicknamed "The Playmaker," battled dual addictions to drugs and women. Charles Haley, the defensive colossus, presided over the team's infamous "White House," where the parties lasted late into the night and a steady stream of long-legged groupies came and went. And then there were Smith and Sanders, whose Texas-sized egos were eclipsed only by their record-breaking on-field perfomances. With an unforgettable cast of characters and a narrative as hard-hitting and fast-paced as the team itself, Boys Will Be Boys immortalizes the most beloved—and despised—dynasty in NFL history.

New Rules of Lifting
By: Lou Schuler
Published by: The Penguin Group (USA)
A revolutionary method of weight lifting using today's science for maximum results. In The New Rules of Lifting, fitness guru Lou Schuler and strength-training expert Alwyn Cosgrove boil down the most recent findings on weight lifting and fitness to create a program of workouts that focuses on the movements at which the body naturally excels. These six ''real-life'' movements-squat, bend, lunge, push, pull, and twist-compose three complete programs for three distinct goals: fat loss, muscle gain, and strength improvement. At home or at the gym, these routines can be mixed and matched for a year's worth of workouts that will keep boredom at bay and lifters challenged long after most plans have called it quits. And while coordinated, useful muscles will always turn heads at the beach, they'll also help you live better and longer. Besides providing comprehensive workout programs, The New Rules of Lifting covers much-needed background on aspects of lifting that are often overlooked, like warming up, nutrition, and meal planning. Throughout, Schuler and Cosgrove debunk strength-training myths, troubleshoot dangerous pitfalls, and clearly illustrate moves with black-and-white photographs.

Sailing Alone Around the World
By: Slocum, Joshua
Published by: The Floating Press
Sailing Alone Around the World (1899) is a sailing memoir by Joshua Slocum about his single-handed global circumnavigation aboard the sloop Spray . Slocum was the first person to sail around the world alone, the book was an immediate success and highly influential in inspiring later travelers. Captain Slocum, a highly experienced navigator and ship-owner, rebuilt and refitted the derelict sloop Spray in a seaside pasture at Fairhaven, Massachusetts during a thirteen-month period between early 1893 and 1894. Between April 24, 1895 and June 27, 1898, Slocum, aboard the Spray , crossed the Atlantic twice (to Gibraltar and back to South America), negotiated the Strait of Magellan, and crossed the Pacific. He also visited Australia and South Africa before crossing the Atlantic (for the third time) to reach home after a journey of 46,000 miles. There was considerable international interest in Slocum's journey, particularly once he had entered the Pacific; he was awaited at most of his ports of call, and gave lectures and lantern-slide shows to well-filled halls. His journal, which is masterfully self-deprecating, was first published in installments before being issued in book form in 1900 (variously 1899). The book was lavishly illustrated. Slocum tells his story as a sequence of adventures, understating his own part and giving credit always to the Spray . He even invents a Columbus' crew-member: the pilot of the Pinta to take credit for the safety of the vessel while he sleeps. The trip itinerary went as follows: Fairhaven, Boston, Gloucester, Nova Scotia, Azores, Gibraltar, (Morocco), Canary Islands, Cape Verde Islands, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Maldonado, Montevideo, Strait of Magellan, Cockburn Channel, Port Angosto, Juan Fernandez, Marquesas, Samoa, Fiji, Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, Cooktown, Christmas Island, Keeling Cocos, Rodriguez, Mauritius, Durban, Cape Town, (Transvaal), St Helena, Ascension Island, Devil's Island, Trinidad, Grenada, Newport, Fa
